PITTSBURGH - A late goal in the 86
th minute by
Lorenzo Grispello gave the Pioneers a 2-1 Mountain East Conference win over the Frostburg State Bobcats at Highmark Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Frostburg State attacked first with Abdur-Rahman Neama finding the net in the 39
th minute from beyond the box to close out the first half with Frostburg State up 1-0.
The second half was all the Pioneers as Point Park put up two second half goals to get the win over the Bobcats.
Fridolin Gefrorer equalized the game in the 54
th minute off an assist from
Guy Lehrer to make it 1-1 before
Lorenzo Grispello put in the game winning goal in the 86
th minute off a deflection by the keeper to put the Pioneers out front with four minutes to go.
Point Park's defense held Frostburg State's offense scoreless in the remaining four minutes to seal the victory.
In the matchup Point Park held a 20-15 advantage in shots with eight of their shots coming on goal compared to Frostburg States six.
With the win, Point Park moves to 4-3 overall and 4-2 in Mountain East Conference play while Frostburg State falls 2-4-1 overall and 2-3 in league play. Point Park will continue Mountain East play next Wednesday as the Pioneers travel to Davis & Elkins to take on the Senators. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Elkins, West Virginia.
