PITTSBURGH -- Kiley Leasure and Andrea Kinger each scored six goals on Friday, lifting Point Park to a 17-8 win over Lake Erie at Highmark Stadium.

Leasure scored four times in the first half, including two goals within the first five minutes of play. Kinger was the inverse, scoring four goals in the second half. Leisure posted a team-high two assists to lead the Pioneers (2-1, 0-0 MEC) with 8 points. Kinger added an assist and ended with 7 points.

Alayna Zell added a hat trick of her own, and Gracie Favela and Ava Miller each scored on Saturday. In addition to Leasure and Kinger, Zell, Taylor Desko, Alexandra Hrkach and Bryn Adey all notched assists in the win.

After the two teams went back and forth in the first quarter, Point Park blew the game open with four goals in five minutes in the second. Leasure scored twice on said run, with Zell and Kinger each adding goals. PPU outscored Lake Erie (0-3) 5-1 in the second frame, with Leasure adding another goal with six seconds to go before halftime.

The Pioneers scored seven unanswered goals to open the second half. PPU featured five goalscorers over the run, with Kinger scoring three times.Â

Kinger led the Pioneers in shots, posting 15, a whopping 13 of which were on goal. Leisure was second for Point Park in both categories, adding 10 shots and six shots on goal.

Brooke McNeal and Gabriella Adie led the Storm, each scoring a hat trick. Reese Friesen and Rachel Rose led Lake Erie in assists, both recording two.

Point Park will host Mount Aloysius College on Sunday in an exhibition game at 1:15 p.m. at Highmark Stadium. The Pioneers will continue their homestand against Edinboro on Thursday, March 5, with opening draw slated for 7 p.m.
