PITTSBURGH – Three members of the Point Park women's lacrosse team earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team recognition on Tuesday, the organization announced.
The Point Park honorees included attacker
Taylor Desko, and defenders
Presley Masters and
Lexi Spears.
Desko, a junior from Latrobe, Pa., played and started in 14 games for the Pioneers, scoring four goals while passing out eight assists. She recorded a team-high and conference-high 70 groundballs on the season. She also ranks second on the team in draw controls (41) and led the team in caused turnovers (27).
In the classroom, Desko has a 3.84 grade-point average as a Sport Management major at Point Park.
Masters, a junior from Chandler, Ariz., played and started in 15 games this season, recording two goals for the Pioneers. She also racked up 23 groundballs and 11 caused turnovers this season.
In the classroom, Masters has a 3.79 grade-point average as a Criminal Justice major at Point Park.
Spears, a sophomore from Murrysville, Pa., played and started in 16 games for the Pioneers, totaling 11 groundballs and eight caused turnovers, statistically.
In the classroom, Spears is majoring in Forensic Psychology with a grade-point average of 4.0.
