PITTSBURGH -- Point Park baseball is set for five games away from the Steel City over the weekend, taking on Bluefield State on Friday before opening road MEC play with doubleheaders against Glenville State on Saturday and Concord on Sunday.
Friday's neutral site contest will be played at GoMart Ballpark in Charleston, West Virginia.

Point Park (8-6, 3-1 MEC) enters off a three-win weekend in which it swept WV Wesleyan and split with Davis & Elkins. The Pioneers scored 29 runs over the weekend and allowed only six.Â
Harold Boyce was named MEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday after throwing a no-hitter on Friday. Boyce struck out five and allowed zero walks over his seven shutout innings, and he became the first Pioneer to throw a no-hitter since Apr. 1, 2018, when Nick Beardsley accomplished the feat.
Trevor Jones homered twice over the weekend and last week's MEC Player of the Week, Olindo Pezzone, left the yard on Friday. Ramon Rodriguez, who was named MEC Pitcher of the Week last week, tossed six shutout innings on Friday, striking out six batters.
Bluefield State enters with a 6-9 record. The Big Blue picked up a win over Virginia State to split their series. BSU recently went 1-3 against Wheeling in a four-game series, posting a -19 run differential.
Glenville State (12-8, 1-3 MEC) enters on the back of being swept by Frostburg State last Sunday. The GSU Pioneers lost by a total of 12 runs over the doubleheader.Â
Concord (6-14, 1-3 MEC) won its first game of last weekend against Frostbug State before dropping game two and being swept by Fairmont State in a doubleheader. The Mountain Lions have had three players take home MEC weekly honors with Kaden Varela-Payne earning Pitcher of the Week honors on Feb. 9 and Feb. 23 and Korbin Bostic being named MEC Player of the Week on Feb. 23. The Mountain Lions and Point Park are the only two teams to take home both MEC weekly awards in the same week this season, with Point Park having accomplished the feat on Mar. 9.Â

Olindo Pezzone was named MEC Player of the Week on Mar. 9. Pezzone leads the team with his 1.485 OPS and .414 batting average, which rank first and third in the MEC respectively. Pezzone's 13 RBIs are second on the team and are 12th in the conference.

Harold "Shaggy" Boyce was named MEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday after throwing a no-hitter. Boyce threw seven shutout innings in the first no-no since Apr. 1, 2018, which Nick Beardsley, Point Park's current pitching coach, threw.

Ethan Parker's ERA of 1.96 and WHIP of 1.15 are best on the team among qualified pitchers. Parker picked up a save on Friday against WV Wesleyan and has thrown 18.1 innings this season.Â
