WINGATE, N.C. -- Harold Boyce was named Division II Pitcher of the Week for the Atlantic Region by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America on Tuesday, the writers announced.
Â
Boyce was named MEC Pitcher of the Week on Monday after throwing a no-hitter for Point Park on Friday. Boyce struck out five batters and walked zero over his seven shutout innings. Boyce was named Atlantic Region Pitcher of the Week last year on Apr. 30.Â
Â
Boyce' no-hitter was the first thrown by a Pioneer since Nick Beardsley's no-no on Apr. 1, 2018. Beardsley is currently Point Park's pitching coach.Â
Â
Boyce was the second Pioneer to win MEC Pitcher of the Week in as many weeks, with Ramon Rodriguez taking home the award on Mar. 9.Â
Â
Shippensburg's Evan Shoffler was named Hitter of the Week.
Â
Point Park will be back in action this weekend when it plays road doubleheaders against Glenville State on Saturday and Concord on Sunday.
