MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Point Park baseball split its doubleheader against Davis & Elkins on Sunday at Mylan Park. The Pioneers dropped the first game 2-1 before earning a 12-3 win in game two.

Trevor Jones hit two home runs on Sunday for Point Park (8-6, 3-1 MEC) and totaled four RBIs, tying for the team lead with Sebastian Hernandez.

Game 1 (2-1 D&E, W: Blackburn 1-4, L: Dimidjian 2-1)
Point Park fell 2-1 in the opening game in a pitcher's duel. All three runs in the game came via solo home runs, with Trevor Jones leaving the yard in the fourth inning and Carsan Strolla and Grant Mealey going deep for the Senators in the sixth and seventh innings respectively.

Camden Dimidjian pitched all seven innings for the Pioneers, allowing five hits and striking out nine batters to one walk. Dimidjian never allowed more than one baserunner per inning and retired the side in order in the second.Â

Point Park struggled to generate offense, and after Jones's fourth-inning home run, only Felix Rodriguez recorded a hit, which came in the fourth inning.

Game 2 (12-3 PPU, W: Parker 1-0, Reyes 1-4)
Point Park's offense came to life in the second game, scoring 12 runs on 13 hits. Sebastian Hernandez launched a three-run home run in the second inning, and Trevor Jones homered in the fifth. 11 different Pioneers recorded hits in game two, with Luis Gonzalez and Olindo Pezzone both tallying two.Â

Point Park opened the game with a first-inning run as Trevor Jones reached on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded, driving in Chris Williams, who walked to lead off the game.

The Pioneers exploded in the second inning, scoring four runs. Olindo Pezzone opened the inning with a walk, and Blake Ewing hit a single through the right side. Felix Gonzalez singled to the pitcher, loading the bases with one out. Chris Williams then reached on an error by the center fielder, making the score 2-1 PPU.Â

Felix Rodriguez then hit a three-rbi double to right center with two outs, clearing the bases and giving the Pioneers a four-run lead after two innings.

In the third inning, Luis Gonzalez doubled and Olindo Pezzone singled to leadoff the inning, setting the stage for Sebastian Hernandez to hit a three-run home run to left center, making it an 8-2 ballgame.Â

Carlos de la Vega ripped a double down the line in left to bring Felix Gonzalez home in the third, making it 9-2.

The Pioneers would go on to add three more runs with Sebastian Hernandez recording his fourth RBI in the fourth and Trevor Jones hitting a two-run shot in the fifth.Â
