PITTSBURGH -- After a change in the weekend schedule due to wet conditions in Pittsburgh, Point Park will prepare for three road doubleheaders over the next four days, beginning Thursday against Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. Two days later, Point Park will open conference play with two games at Wheeling on Saturday and a twinbill at West Liberty on Sunday.

The Pioneers (3-8) are coming off a week in Florida for The Spring Games in which the team went 3-4. Point Park ended the tournament with a split, beating Edinboro 7-6 and falling 9-8 to Clarion last Thursday.

Gia LaBrie posted four hits over the two games, adding two runs and an RBI. Gianna Welsh hit two doubles and added an RBI single. In a back-and-forth game against Edinboro, Jana Hess, Mia Arndt and Corrine Wright all added RBIs in the fifth and sixth innings, with Hess driving in two runs, to give Point Park the winning edge.

Walsh (6-8) enters Thursday on a two-game win streak after sweeping Wheeling in a doubleheader on March 10. The Cavaliers are 2-0 on the road this season and posted a run differential of +5 against Wheeling.
