ELKINS, W.Va. – Point Park men's lacrosse opened a 9-2 halftime lead and never looked back in a 16-6 G-MAC victory over Davis & Elkins on Wednesday evening.
The win is Point Park's second in a row as the Pioneers improved to 3-8 overall and 3-5 in league play. Prior to Saturday's win over Tiffin, the Pioneers were on a seven-game losing streak.
Point Park took 49 total shots on Wednesday, with 33 shots on goal. The Pioneers also held a 17-9 advantage in faceoffs and a 44-32 edge in groundballs.
Sawyer Leko led Point Park with five goals and two assists in the win.
Grant Huber added four goals, while
Parker Bowersox found the back of the net three times.
Braydan Stearns also scored two goals and recorded one assist.
Tigran Ceesay passed out two assists.
Logan Foy led Point Park with 10 groundballs and six caused turnovers.
Landon Carlson was 13-of-20 on faceoffs, while Bowersox was successful on four of his six faceoffs.
In the Point Park goal,
Connor Boyle recorded 15 saves while allowing just six goals.
Point Park wraps up the regular season with two-straight home games, beginning on Friday against Thomas More University. Faceoff is slated for 5 p.m.
