PITTSBURGH -- Point Park softball plays host to Salem on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch of game one is slated for 3 p.m. at Fairhaven Park.

Point Park (9-29, 3-17 MEC) was swept by top-seeded Charleston on Saturday before splitting with West Virginia State on Senior Day, Sunday. Mia Arndt hit a double and a home run in Point Park's 5-4 win over the Yellow Jackets. Arndt was one of four Pioneers to record an RBI, with Ava Hubble pacing PPU with two and both Gianna Welsh and Emma Henry adding one. Henry hit an RBI double in the bottom of the first and an RBI single in the second.Â

Salem (14-27) took the second game of its doubleheader against WV State on Saturday to earn a split and end a nine-game losing streak. The Tigers had not won since their 10-2 win over Ohio Christian University on Apr. 7 before picking up the 3-0 win.Â

Point Park and Salem split their doubleheader on Mar. 26, with the Pioneers winning game one 6-5 before falling 6-4 in game two. Shania Cope and Ava Hubble both had three hits in the Pioneers' win, with Mia Arndt and Emma Henry adding two apiece. Henry's two RBIs led the team.
