PITTSBURGH -- Point Park men's soccer is back in action on Sunday for a tilt with D'Youville. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at F.N.B. Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT

Point Park (0-1-0) dropped its season opener to Seton Hill in a 3-1 matchup at home. The Pioneers' lone tally came in the last minute when Hugo Ferreira sidestepped the Seton Hill goalkeeper to bag a goal into the empty net. 

Goalkeeper Anthony Fusay impressed in his Pioneer debut, recording five saves, three of which came in the first half. Fusay's best work came just over 15 minutes into the game when he made a leaping grab to deny a Griffin shot with his fingertips, just pushing it over the crossbar. 

The Griffins were able to open the second half with three straight goals over a 10-minute span, building a lead they would not surrender.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS    

D'Youville (0-0-1) enters Sunday's contest seeking its first goal of the season, after it played Slippery Rock to a 0-0 tie on Thursday in Buffalo. The Saints were out-shot 16 to three against SRU, but all three of their shots were on target. 

DU goalkeeper Matthew Solorio made a game-high six saves in his clean sheet.

PRESEASON PRAISE

Point Park was picked to finish second in the Mountain East Conference North Division in the MEC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. The Pioneers received four of the 10 first-place votes.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

All 11 of Point Park's starters on Thursday night made their Pioneer first-team debut. Of the 21 total Pioneers who saw action against Seton Hill, all but five were in their first game with Point Park. Only Guilherme Galvao, Lorenzo Grispello, Rocco Domenighini. Nikolai Tjoestheim and Edouard Gagnon had seen action for Point Park in 2025.
