ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. -- Point Park University men's soccer picked up a road win at NAIA Rochester (Mich.), 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon.
Alan Ramos and Nathanael Van Der Walt scored two goals apiece for the Pioneers (5-6-2, 1-3 RSC), who earned their first road victory of the season.
Ramos, who also had an assist on the day, scored his two goals within the first 10 minutes. Point Park bumped the lead to 3-0 at halftime when Trenton Fowler found the back of the net.
Point Park extended things to 5-0 with Van Der Walt's tallies in the 67th and 85th minutes. Other goals came from Roberto Whitley (86') and Nawfel Bichiba (90').
Five different players were credited with assist with Ricardo Dip, Matheus Lira, Ramos, Whitley and Zachary Flick.
The Pioneers led in shots, 28-9, and had 20 of its shots come on goal. Point Park goalkeeper Manual Pajzer registered the shutout with two saves in 90 minutes.
After three straight road games, Point Park returns home Saturday for a River States Conference game with Ohio Christian. Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Highmark Stadium. Follow the Pioneers on social media @PointParkSports.
