Point Park volleyball sweeps Midway (Ky.) on Friday night, 3-0

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University volleyball swept Midway (Ky.) University, 3-0, on Friday night at the Student Center Gym to begin its River States Conference weekend homestand.

The Pioneers have now won four in a row and three straight in conference play to bump their record to 13-8 overall, 3-2 RSC. The victory of 25-16, 25-11, 25-17 got Point Park off to a good start for its two-match RSC weekend, which also includes a home matchup versus Asbury (8-3, 3-0 RSC) on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Point Park got things going partway through the first set versus Midway (4-14, 0-4 RSC) and never looked back. There were many players getting in on the attack with Jazlyn Rozier and Ashley Taylor leading the way with eight kills apiece.

Midway did not get much offense with Point Park racking up the digs and keeping the pressure on the serve with seven service aces.

The Pioneers now turn the focus to Asbury, which won at Carlow, 3-1, on Friday night. The Eagles (3-0 RSC) are one of three remaining teams with an unbeaten RSC record, and they beat Carlow, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14.
