PIPPA PASSES, Ky. -- Point Park University (17-10) women's basketball is at Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College (22-4) for the River States Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m. in Pippa Passes, Ky.

Point Park is the No. 4 seed from the RSC East Division after a record of 12-5 conference during the regular season. Alice Lloyd is the champion of the RSC West Division and one of two No. 1 seeds in the tournament after a 15-3 RSC record. Point Park won the only meeting between the teams this year, 80-73, on the road Jan. 27.

The Point Park-Alice Lloyd winner will face the winner of IU East versus Midway in the semifinal round on Saturday, Feb. 24. The top four teams in each division made the RSC Tournament with the higher seed hosting each game. Quarterfinal matchups cross over the divisions.

THE MATCHUP

Point Park at Alice Lloyd earlier this year was a tough battle with the Pioneers rallying in the second half to win, 80-73. Point Park was down double digits in the first half and was still trailing, 44-34, at the break. Sam Weir had a big game for the Pioneers with 24 points and 9 rebounds to lead the comeback. Michelle Burns had 13 points and 6 assists while Tyra James contributed 13 points off the bench. Hayley Hall led Alice Lloyd with 25 points, and Alex Clifton posted 19 off the bench.

The Pioneers enter the matchup with three double-digit scorers leading the way. Sam Weir comes in at 12.8 ppg, 8.4 rpg and 2.6 bpg followed by Maryssa Agurs (12.7 ppg) and Michelle Burns (12.5 ppg). Alice Lloyd counters with four players who all average between 13.2 and 13.5 ppg. Clifton, a 6-2 center, and Hall are the top scorers followed by guards Kayla and Miranda Wilson.
