The Pioneers offense has exploded in the past two games, scoring a combined 11 goals in a pair of conference victories. That included a 6-3 win over Carlow and 5-2 win over Bresica. Those games followed an opening loss to Lourdes (Ohio).
One of the team's captains, Mitchell Roell, has five goals, two assists and 12 points through just three games. Geert Bijl, another captain has added two goals and one assist as Point Park's main offensive threats come with Roell and Bijl up at forward. Outside midfielder Lorenzo Diaz has also stood out with one goal and two assists as a playmaker down the left side.
In addition, the Pioneers bench has created an offensive surge. With a combined four goals and two assists (10 points). Conner Kelly specifically with one goal and one assist. Niyonyishu Heritier has come off the bench to score a goal in each of the last two games.
Goalkeeper-wise, Sean O'Hea has helped Point Park in back-to-back wins, providing eight total saves. He has started all three games thus far.
Midway has scored six goals through its five games and has given up 16 in that span. Drew Blaydes and Cheal Kiwerza have scored two goals each to lead the offense. Hunter Caudill has played every minute so far as goalkeeper.
The Pioneers upcoming game against Ohio Christian University on October 12 will be postponed and rescheduled to a later date, due to COVID-19 precautions. Besides that, game, the men's teams' schedules feature five conference games left in the regular season. Following this next game, Point Park will travel out to Indiana on the 15th to play Indiana University East.
