Box Score

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Taylor Rinn had a huge game of 26 points and 18 rebounds to surpass the 1,000-career points milestone, but it was not enough in a 66-65 loss for the Pioneers to Bryant & Stratton-Buffalo on Saturday. It was the first game of the Bobcat Bash being hosted by B&S-Buffalo.

Rinn, a senior forward from Akron, Ohio, now has 1,017 career points. She reached the milestone in just 66 career games. Her first three years included a sophomore season that was limited to 10 games for the team due to COVID. Now four games into her senior season, she is averaging 15.4 points and 11.8 rebounds for her career.

Point Park (2-2) had a 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter versus Bryant & Stratton-Buffalo (3-0). But the Bobcats made a 23-11 run in the second period to build a 10-point lead at the half, 37-27.

The third quarter was Point Park's turn to make a run. The Pioneers outscored the Bobcats, 21-12, to close the gap to one entering the fourth.

B&S-Buffalo opened up a 64-56 lead with 5:00 to go. But the Pioneers got within 64-63 on Izzy Strickland's free throw at the 1:38 mark. From there, the Bobcats were able to make a couple of clutch free throws, and Point Park missed some chances to tie or take the lead on its last couple of possessions.

Sierra Seneta had 12 points and made a pair of 3-pointers for the Pioneers. Kat Kanhoye led three Bobcats in double digits with 19 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Oumy Gueye added 17 points and five treys off the bench.
