KENT, Ohio – Akeem Mustapha re-set his own school record in the long jump to headline Point Park's performance at the Jud Logan Memorial Meet on Saturday at Kent State University.
A record that he broke back on Dec. 6 at the YSU Icebreaker, Mustapha improved his mark to 7.45m on Saturday. He finished second in Saturday's long jump event, while also taking sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.24m.
Three others also turned in top 5 all-time performances in Point Park history on Saturday. In the 3000m,
Luke McKenna clocked a time of 8:50.41 to record the second-fastest time in PPU history in the event.
Kamar Sutherland also turned in the second-fastest time in program history in the 60m hurdles, running an 8.33 in preliminaries.
In the mile,
Chase Bowen bettered his mark to fourth in program history with a time of 4:25.74. He improved by nearly two seconds over his time at the YSU Icebreaker in December.
