YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Point Park men's track and field turned in five top 10 finishes during Day 1 of the Youngstown State Collegiate Mid-Major on Friday.
Akeem Mustapha finished second in the long jump on Friday with a mark of 7.44m to highlight Point Park's results.
Jannik Windelband finished third in the 1000m with a time of 2:30.70. Mustapha and Windelband are the current school record holders in each event.
In the 500m,
Toby Wright (1:08.87) and
Joshua Maurer (1:09.28) finished seventh and eighth, respectively on Friday. The times currently sit fourth and fifth on the school's all-time record list in the event.
David Attram also set a new PR in the weight throw with a mark of 14.36m. He finished ninth in the "Elite" Weight Throw event on Friday and the mark ranks fourth in PPU history.
Action continues at 9 a.m. on Saturday from YSU. Saturday's events include the shot put, triple jump, high jump, men's pole vault, mile, 400m, 60m, 60m hurdles, 800m, 200m, 3000m, and 4x400 relay.
