Taylor Fulton Added to Athletics Staff as Assistant AD for Academic Support

PITTSBURGH – Point Park University Vice President of Athletics Scott Swain has announced the addition of Taylor Fulton to the athletics staff as Assistant Director of Athletics for Academic Support.

A higher education professional with over 10 years' experience building and leading student-athlete academic success programs, Fulton comes to Point Park after three years as Director of Student-Athlete Academic Success at Clark Atlanta University.

In this newly created administrative role at Point Park, Fulton will develop and provide strategic leadership for student-athlete academic programs for the department's 20 athletics teams and nearly 500 student-athletes. She will handle the administration of academic onboarding, transcript evaluation, degree progress tracking, and retention strategy development.

"After meeting Taylor, our selection committee appreciated her true passion for student-athlete success," said Swain. "To have someone with the wealth of knowledge and experience that Taylor has is a huge win for our Pioneer student-athletes. We are thrilled to welcome Taylor home to Point Park University and Pittsburgh.

In addition to her role in academic success, Fulton will collaborate with athletics compliance and other campus leaders to assist in NCAA certifications and compliance reporting, waivers, and eligibility.

"I am truly honored to return home to Pittsburgh and join the athletics administration at Point Park University," said Fulton. "This opportunity is deeply meaningful to me because it allows me to give back to the city that shaped who I am today. I'm blessed for the opportunity to support the next generation of student-athletes here at Point Park.

"Since first meeting Vice President of Athletics (Scott) Swain, it's been clear that he has a strong vision for excellence across the department, and I'm excited to be a part of that. My passion has always been empowering student-athletes to excel not only in competition, but also in the classroom and in life," Fulton explained.

In addition to her leadership role in academic success, Fulton began her career in athletics as a women's basketball coach, with stops at Clark Atlanta, Middle Georgia State, Lincoln, Pitt-Johnstown and Penn State Greater Allegheny as a lead assistant at each stop. She served as head women's basketball coach at Penn State Greater Allegheny in 2015-16.

Prior to her career in athletics coaching and administration, Fulton was a two-time, all-conference standout on the women's basketball team at Penn State Greater Allegheny. In her two seasons with the Lions, Fulton scored 1,002 points to go with 446 assists and 250 steals. She was the 2013 PSUAC Player of the Year and earned USCAA All-American honors in 2013 and 2014.

A standout in the WPIAL, Fulton graduated from West Mifflin Area High School, leading the Titans to a pair of AAA Sectional Championships and multiple state tournament appearances, including a pair of sweet sixteen finishes. She earned first team All-Section honors in 2009 while also being named to the Daily News "Fabulous Fifteen." She was also inducted into the West Mifflin Area High School Hall of Fame in 2024.

Fulton is an active member of NACDA and the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) organizations. In fact, she participated in the NACDA Sport Administrator Leadership Institute in 2025.

A Pittsburgh native, Fulton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Penn State University in 2013. She continued her education by obtaining a Master's of Science degree in Management from Middle Georgia State in the summer of 2025.
