PITTSBURGH – Nicole Reasbeck recorded 19 kills in Point Park's 3-1 setback to West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday evening at the Student Center. The match was the Pioneer's annual Dig Pink Game.
The teams split the first two sets with Wesleyan taking set one, 25-22, and Point Park winning set two, 28-26. The Bobcats wrapped up the win by scores of 25-20 and 25-18 in the third and fourth sets.
Wesleyan hit .232 in the match compared to .150 by the Pioneers. The Bobcats also held a 10-7 advantage in aces.
Point Park had an advantage close to the net, holding an 8-7 edge in total blocks.
In addition to Reasbeck,
Avery Budrys Rini also reached double figures with 14 kills, eight digs and three aces.
Sara Faith and
Patricia Calero-Irizarry also drove home five kills apiece.
In addition to her damage on the attack, Calero-Irizarry also recorded a team-high five blocks for the Pioneers.
Marianna Oyola-Rivera recorded 38 assists and six digs from her setter position.
Lily Marchand had eight digs defensively.
Bhrooke Axe recorded a team-high 11 kills for the Bobcats. Emily Denison added nine kills, six digs and five blocks.
Point Park returns to the road on Tuesday evening for a matchup at West Liberty. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
