Point Park Opens Home Portion of Schedule Against UPJ on Sunday

PITTSBURGH – Point Park will open the home portion of its schedules on Sunday afternoon, as Pitt-Johnstown visits CCAC for an early season Atlantic Region matchup. Tip is set for 2 p.m.

Tickets for all Point Park men's and women's basketball home games will be available on game day only at CCAC-Allegheny (presale is not available). Ticket prices are listed below:

Youth (Ages 10 and Under): $5
Point Park Faculty/Staff/Students: Free with valid ID

Pitt-Johnstown will be the second team from the PSAC to play Point Park this season as the Pioneers defeated Shippensburg in its 2025-26 season opener, 56-50, on the road on Wednesday evening. UPJ is currently 0-3 on the season and will play back-to-back games this weekend, first hosting West Liberty on Saturday at 1 p.m., before traveling to Pittsburgh to face the Pioneers.
 
Storylines
  • Point Park used a balanced offensive attack to defeat Shippensburg on Wednesday, getting a team-high 14 points from Alexis Giles and 13 points and 11 rebounds from newcomer Lexi Adams. Adams also passed out seven assists and had three steals.
  • Elizabeth Boyd was one basket shy of a double-double with eight points and 10 rebounds. Kamryn Pieper also chipped in eight points, while Camille Fultz chipped in seven points and seven rebounds.
  • In Wednesday's opener, Point Park grabbed the victory despite shooting just 29 percent from the floor (18-62) and 29.4 percent from behind the arc (5-of-17). The Pioneers held a 49-37 rebounding edge in the win, including 17 on the offensive glass.
  • The Pioneers used stifling defense on Wednesday evening, limiting Shippensburg to just seven points in the second quarter and 10 in the fourth quarter. The game was tied enter the fourth quarter.
  • UPJ is currently 0-3 against MEC competition this season, including losses to Frostburg State (75-71), West Virginia Wesleyan (79-72) and Wheeling (62-54).
  • Point Park will return to the road to meet Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play. Tip is set for 2 p.m. on the eve of the Thanksgiving holiday.
