YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Elijah Bechdel's school record performance in the 5000m headlined Point Park's performance at the 2025 YSU Icebreaker event on Friday. Bechdel turned in a time of 15:10.90 to set the school record and finish ninth in the event.
Luke McKenna also turned in an impressive performance in the 5000m event, placing 12
th with a time of 15:16.29. McKenna's time was the second-fastest in school history.
Additionally,
Pedro Lemos finished fourth in the mile with a time of 4:19.21,
Aike Van der Lei placed fifth in the 3000m with a time of 8:55.55, and
Kamar Sutherland took 10
th in the 60m hurdles event (8.34). Lemos' time in the mile ranks third in school history.
In all, Point Park turned in nine marks that ranked within the Top 5 in program history (see below).
