HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Point Park men's track and field team finished fourth at the 2025 Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which wrapped up on Monday night at the Chris Cline Sports Complex at Marshall University.
The University of Charleston took home to the 2025 MEC Championship, while Davis & Elkins (82), West Liberty (75) and Point Park (70) rounded out the top four.
After winning the MEC Championship with an MEC meet record in the long jump on Sunday,
Akeem Mustapha added to his trophy case on Monday with a championship in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m. He also finished sixth in both the 60m (6.97) and 60m Hurdles (8.47m) on Monday.
Following his performance over the two days at Marshall, Mustapha was named the Most Valuable Performer of the Championship and the 2025 MEC Field Athlete of the Year.
Kamar Sutherland also turned in a podium finish on Monday with a runner-up finish in the 60m Hurdles, clocking a time of 8.25. Sutherland set a school record and had an NCAA provisional mark in the event during prelims on Sunday (8.16).
The Pioneers additionally turned in a trio of fourth place finishes on Monday, including
Chevaughn Fletcher in the weight throw (16.76m),
Maxwell Goode in the triple jump (14.03m), and the 4x400m relay team had a fourth-place time of 3:24.11 – a mark that ranks fifth in school history.
