STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Point Park men's track and field team turned in six Top 10 finishes on Saturday at the Sykes and Sabock Invitational hosted by Penn State University.
Point Park's top finish at the event was
Michael Quigley's seventh-place finish in the long jump (6.68m). A trio of Pioneers also turned in ninth-place finishes, including
Kamar Sutherland in the 60m (8.52),
Akeem Mustapha in the high jump (1.95m) and
Joshua Maurer in the 600m (1:27.15).
Mustapha also finished 10
th in the 60m hurdles (7.05) and 11
th in the 60m (8.60). Point Park's final Top 10 finish came courtesy of
Emmanuel Akpoli in the 600m (1:32.44).
In the men's 800m event,
Chase Bowen finished 18
th with a time of 1:59.21. The time ranks fifth in Point Park history.
Next Saturday, Point Park will travel to Geneva, Ohio for the Spire Collegiate Indoor Games. The Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship is set for Feb. 23-24 at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.
