GREENSBURG, Pa. – Point Park rolled to a 12-4 victory over Seton Hill on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action, becoming the first Mountain East Conference program to record 30 wins during the 2025 season.
The Pioneers sit in first place in the North Division with an 18-6 conference record. The 18 wins in conference play are the most in the MEC, contributing to a 30-11 overall record. In out-of-conference play, the Pioneers are 12-5.
Point Park started the first inning with immediate run support, beginning with a leadoff single from
Omar Morillo, followed by a
Crixtian Taveras walk. With two runners on, MEC-leading slugger
Jared Campbell blasted his 13th home run of the year to give the Pioneers a 3-0 lead. His 13 home runs are tied for first in the MEC, while his 47 RBIs are tops in the conference.
Point Park added four more runs in the second inning. With runners on first and second and one out, Morillo hit his second single of the game through the right side, driving in
Luis Gonzalez to make it 4-0. Morillo now has multi-hit games in three of his last five contests.
Later in the inning, Taveras was hit by a pitch, and then
Jared Campbell picked up his 26th walk of the year (third most in the MEC) with the bases loaded, allowing Jordan Campbell to score.
Isaac Santana then delivered a double to right field, driving in two runners and making it 7-0 in the second.
Santana has recorded two or more RBIs in four of his last five games and has the third-most RBIs on the team with 37.
Point Park continued to add to their run total with a culmination of good at-bats.
Jared Campbell reached on a fielder's choice, followed by a Santana walk, and then
Chris Williams was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
With the bases loaded,
Joseph Pilewski drew a walk, driving in a run, followed by a
Trevor Jones fielder's choice that brought in another.
The bases were loaded once again for a Jordan Campbell walk, capping off the end of the fifth with the Pioneers up 12-3.
Point Park had seven pitchers take the mound in the game, highlighted by
Brandon Clifford, who made his seventh start, pitching three innings, allowing one earned run, and recording three strikeouts.
Logan Creamer tied his season-high in innings pitched with two, while striking out a season-high three batters to earn the win for the Pioneers.
Point Park has scored double-digit runs in three of their last four games and have done so 14 times this season, maintaining a perfect 14-0 record in those games.
Point Park will return home to face Wheeling in a four-game series, featuring a pair of doubleheaders at Point Park Field. The first doubleheader will take place on Friday, April 25, with the first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
The Pioneers will celebrate their nine seniors on Sunday afternoon with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
