PITTSBURGH -- Point Park's Olindo Pezzone and Ethan Parker were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II All-Atlantic Region Team, the writers announced on Friday. Pezzone was named to the First Team and Parker was tabbed to the Second Team.
Pezzone, who was named to the All-MEC First Team as a designated hitter, earned MEC Player of the Week honors on Mar. 9. He led the conference with 15 home runs and led Point Park in batting average (.312), slugging (.636) total bases (98) and RBIs (49). His OPS of 1.021 was second on the team and fifth in the MEC.
Parker was also named to the All-MEC First Team as a relief pitcher. He led the MEC with his eight saves, and his 68.1 innings pitched led Point Park and were fifth-best in the conference. Parker was third among qualified Pioneers in ERA (4.21) and opponent average (.266) and was fourth in WHIP (1.46).
