Three Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

PITTSBURGH – Three Point Park University Track & Field standouts earned All-Atlantic Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the association's awards committee announced on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Point Park honorees included Cassondra O'Connor in the women's 5000m and 10,000m, Kamar Sutherland in the men's 110m Hurdles, and Jannik Windelband in the 3000m Steeplechase.
 
O'Connor, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa., turned in the top time in the MEC in both the 5000m (17:04.96) and 10,000m (36:16.83) events this season. At the MEC Outdoor Championships, O'Connor took first place in the 10,000m, while finishing runner-up in the 5000m. O'Connor set a new school record in the 10,000m at the MEC Outdoor Championships, while currently ranking second in school history in the 5000m.
 
Sutherland, a freshman from Jamaica, set a school record and won the MEC Championship in the 110m hurdles event with a time of 14.34. The time also set a NCAA Division II time standard. Sutherland was named the MEC Freshman of the Year in outdoor track & field after also finishing second in the 400m hurdles and 16th in the 200m prelims at the league's championship meet.
 
Windelband, a senior from Germany, turned in the second-fastest time in the conference in the 3000m steeplechase (9:14.90), while also setting a school record at the Bison Outdoor Classic on April 12, 2025. He finished runner-up at the MEC Outdoor Championships in the event.
