ELON, N.C. -- Point Park track & field will open the outdoor season on Friday at Elon University's Phoenix Invitational.

Point Park capped off a successful indoor season by taking second place for both men's and women's teams in the 2026 MEC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Akeem Mustapha and Dunya Van den Tooren were both named MEC Championship MVP and Field Athlete of the Year at the event. 

Point Park finished the MEC Championships with a total of 14 medals and three MEC Championships. Mustapha took the top spot in the long jump, Van den Tooren was named MEC Champion in the high jump and Mya Greschner finished first in the 400m.
