PITTSBURGH -- Point Park men's lacrosse opens Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) play with its first-ever conference game against Malone on Friday. Opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.
The Pioneers (0-1) dropped their home opener last Saturday to D'Youville in a 12-11 decision. The Pioneers trailed by four goals with 4:15 left to play, but two goals from Grant Huber and a goal from Parker Bowersox brought the Pioneers within one with 1:25 left to play. Point Park was unable, however, to find the equalizer.
Huber led the Pioneers on the day with four goals. His 4 points also led the team. Bowersox posted the team lead in shots (eight) and shots on goal (five), the latter of which he and Huber tied for.
Malone (0-2) features a goal differential of -21 to open the season, dropping games to Williams Jewell and Roberts Wesleyan 18-5 and 15-7 respectively. Friday's game will mark the first road game of the season for the MU Pioneers.
