Point Park to Host Wheeling on Senior Night

PITTSBURGH - Point Park women's basketball will play its final home game of the 2025-26 season on Wednesday night, when Wheeling comes to CCAC-Allegheny. Wednesday's game is senior night for the Pioneers, and tipoff is set for 5:30. 

Point Park (7-17, 4-15MEC) enters after falling 60-51 at Frostburg State on Saturday. The Pioneers received double-digit points from three players, with Lucia Hervia's 14 points leading the team. Hervia made four of the Pioneers' seven 3-pointers. Alexis Giles and Elizabeth Boyd each added 10 points apiece.

Boyd also added three blocks and tied with Camille Fultz for the team lead in rebounds, boasting seven apiece. 

Wheeling (15-11, 10-8 MEC) is riding a three-game win streak into Wednesday night's contest. The Cardinals picked up a 67-53 win over Point Park on Dec. 3 of last year, in what was the opening conference game for both teams.

Point Park has qualified for the 2026 MEC Women's Basketball Tournament, having clinched the 10th seed. Point Park's opening matchup will be on Wednesday, March 7 at noon in Wheeling, W.Va.'s WesBanco Arena. Point Park will play the No. 7 seed.


SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Point Park will honor three players during Senior Night on Wednesday: Emma Pavelek, Camille Fultz and Alexis Giles.

Pavelek, a graduate student from Beaver, Pa., appeared in 84 games for the Pioneers since transferring in for her sophomore year. Pavelek scored 830 points in her PPU career, averaging 9.88 per game. Pavelek totalled 300 rebounds at Point Park. Pavelek missed the 2025-26 season due to a knee injury. 

Additionally, Pavelek competes on Point Park's track & field team. Pavelek was the 2025 MEC Indoor Champion in the high jump. She holds Point Park's second-best indoor high jump mark at 1.71 meters. Pavelek is sixth all-time in the outdoor long jump at 5.15 meters, and her 1.66-meter outdoor high jump mark is second in Pioneer history.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, Camille Fultz leads the Pioneers in scoring this season at 14.6 points per game. Fultz arrived at Point Park ahead of her junior season, and she has averaged 12.71 points per game as a Pioneer. Fultz scored her 1,000th point on Dec. 3 in the Pioneers' first matchup against Wheeling this season. Fultz posted a double-double in Point Park's last home game, scoring 18 points with 14 rebounds.

Alexis Giles has been at Point Park for her whole collegiate career. Giles reached 100 career games on Feb. 14, and has started 93 games in her career. Giles has scored 1,138 career points and has posted 105 career steals. Giles is third on the team with 12.3 points per game and is second in both assists (46) and steals (18).
 

STORYLINES

  • Despite usually starting on the bench, Elizabeth Boyd is averaging 9.4 rebounds per game, which puts her in third place in the MEC. Boyd is second on the team in points per game with 12.9. She has 10 double-doubles and four 20-point scoring performances this season. 

  • Camille Fultz leads Point Park in scoring, averaging 14.6 points per game, good for 10th in the MEC. Fultz has scored in double figures in all but five contests this season, including in seven of her last eight games. Fultz passed the 1,000-point scoring mark back on Dec. 3 against Wheeling.

  • Kamryn Pieper and Boyd both rank in the top three in the MEC in blocked shots. Boyd is second in the conference at 1.4 per game, while Pieper ranks third at 1.2. Boyd has 33 blocks on the season, while Pieper has 31.

  • Alexis Giles played in her 100th game in her career on Feb. 14, and she has started 93 games. Giles surpassed the 1,000-point mark back on Jan. 17. She now sits at 1,134 career points. Additionally, Giles reached 100 total steals in her career against Davis & Elkins on Feb. 2.

  • As a team, Point Park leads the MEC in rebounding (43.9) and ranks second in blocked shots per game (4.63). The Pioneers posted 37 rebounds and four blocks against Frostburg State.
