CANTON, Ohio -- Point Park women's lacrosse dropped its first-ever road game on Wednesday, falling to Malone 14-8.

The Pioneers were led by Andrea Kinger's four goals - which tied for the game high - and 5 points. Kinger also led the team in shots and shots on goal with eight and six respectively. Taylor Desko's two assists led PPU.

Despite both teams coming off 21-2 wins, Point Park (1-1, 0-0 MEC) and Malone (3-0. 0-0 G-MAC) were tied at a goal apiece after the first quarter, and the first half ended level at 4-4. Point Park would score three unanswered, two of which came from Kinger, in the third quarter, taking a 7-5 lead.

The Malone Pioneers went on to score eight unanswered, holding onto their new lead to end the game.

Malone was led by Alana Samek who tied for the game lead with Kinger with four goals and posted game highs in assists (five) and points (9).

Point Park will return to action on Friday at 2 p.m., when it hosts Lake Erie at Highmark Stadium.
