DAVENPORT, Mi. -- Point Park men's lacrosse fell to Davenport on Saturday 13-5 in the team's first-ever road game. The Pioneers dropped to 1-3 (1-1 GMAC) on the season with the loss.
Point Park featured five goalscorers on Saturday, with Alec Batchelor, Ian George, Tigran Ceesay, Jordan Gales and Parker Bowersox all tallying. Batchelor and George both recorded assists, tying for the team lead with 2 points each.
Sawyer Leko also notched an assist in the game, and his four shots on goal led the team. Bowersox led PPU in total shots with seven.
Davenport (3-2, 2-0 GMAC) hopped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, scoring two of the team's four first-quarter goals within the first five minutes. George scored with 1:10 remaining in the first, but the Panthers responded six seconds later.
Davenport outscored Point Park 4-1 in the third quarter as well, creating a lead it would not surrender. Jayden Ashley scored six goals on Saturday. He led the game in goals and points (6). Luke Eichbauer's three assists led the contest.
