WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Point Park baseball split its doubleheader with West Liberty on Sunday, picking up a 10-1 victory in the opener. The Pioneers (22-12, 13-7 MEC) and Hilltoppers split the four-game season series.

Point Park scored nine runs over the first four innings to open Sunday's doubleheader. Six Pioneers recorded RBIs, highlighted by Trevor Jones' three-RBI game.Â

Chris Williams opened the game with a leadoff walk, and Felix Rodriguez was hit by a pitch in the next at bat. After a walk from Trevor Jones, Williams was able to reach on an error to open the scoring.Â

Williams hit an RBI single with the bases loaded in the second, bringing Carlos de la Vega around to score. Felix Rodriguez then ripped a two-RBI double, giving the Pioneers a 4-0 lead in the second inning.Â

Point Park exploded for a five-run fourth inning, with Chris Williams singling to lead off and Olindo Pezzone walking to put ducks on the pond for Blake Ewing. Ewing doubled to right, bringing Williams home and putting runners on second and third with one out.Â

Trevor Jones hit a two-RBI double on the first pitch he saw, extending Point Park's lead to seven runs. A single from Luis Gonzalez and a walk from de la Vega loaded the bases for Felix Gonzalez who hit a sacrifice fly. Sebastian Hernandez then ripped a two-out single to bring Luis Gonzalez home, giving the Pioneers a 9-0 advantage.

West Liberty would score a run in the fourth, but Point Park added a run of its own in the top of the seventh. Gordon Williams and Josh Zambito both singled and Nicholas Briones walked, setting up Trevor Jones with the bases loaded. Jones hit a sacrifice fly to left for his third RBI of the game.

Camden Dimidjian pitched 6.0 innings of one-run baseball, striking out a season-high 12 batters. Dimidjian only allowed one walk as he picked up his fifth win on the season - which is tied with Ramon Rodriguez and Harold Boyce for the team lead. Carter Raper pitched a scoreless seventh inning and struck out two batters.Â

Game 2: 3-1 WLU, W: Bille (2-3), L: Jordan (1-1)
West Liberty opened the scoring with a run in the first inning and two in the fourth, giving the Hilltoppers a three-run cushion.Â

Point Park got on the board in the fifth inning when Felix Gonzalez hit a leadoff double and Sebastian Hernandez and Chris Williams followed it up with singles to bring him home to score.Â

Williams' RBI in game two was his second on the day, tying him with Felix Rodriguez for the second most on the team on Sunday.

Point Park only tallied four hits in game two with Gonzalez, Hernandez, Williams and Luis Gonzalez supplying them. Rodriguez and Hernandez were the only Pioneers to draw walks in the second game.Â

Noah Jordan started the game for Point Park, allowing only one run over his 2.0 innings. Joey Tedesco pitched the third inning and struck out two batters while allowing two runs. Ethan Parker pitched the final 3.0 innings, allowing only two hits and no runs.Â

Point Park will host Seton Hill on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. from Point Park Field in Pittsburgh. Tuesday will be the Pioneers' first game at Point Park Field in 2026 and the team's second in the Steel City, with the first game being last Thursday at PNC Park.Â
