BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Point Park's Jakob Blatnik was named the Mountain East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Blatnik, a graduate student from Slovenia, recorded a distance of 65.10 meters in the javelin on Saturday at Westminster, good for first place in the event and an NCAA Provisional standard. In fact, he ran away with the event by defeating Wheeling's Felix Manayni (in 2nd place) by nearly seven meters. Blatnik was already the school record holder in the event entering Saturday.

Point Park returns to action this Thursday at the Shippensburg Mid-Week PR Bonanza.
