Pioneers Close Road Schedule in Matchup with Davis & Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. -- Point Park men's lacrosse plays its final road game of the season on Wednesday at Davis & Elkins in G-MAC action. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Nuttall Field.

 

Point Park picked up its first-ever road win last Saturday, taking down Tiffin 12-10. Parker Bowersox led the Pioneers (2-8, 2-5 G-MAC) with three goals, including two in a six-goal first quarter. Sawyer Leko, Tigran Ceesay, Alec Batchelor and Braydan Stearns all scored twice, and Ian George scored. Leko tallied a hat trick of assists, and his 5 points led the Pioneers.

 

Davis & Elkins (1-11, 0-7 G-MAC) has not won since Mar. 4 when it beat Felician 17-14. The Senators have lost their last seven games and have yet to win a home contest this season. 

 

STORYLINES

  • Grant Huber leads the Pioneers with 15 goals and 19 points on the season. Huber shares the top spot in points with Sawyer Leko. 

  • Tigran Ceesay and Parker Bowersox are tied for the second-most points on the team, both with 17. Bowersox's 14 goals are second only to Huber, and Ceesay is third in goals with 13.

  • Sawyer Leko is tied with Huber for most points on the team (19), and his nine assists lead the Pioneers. Leko is one of six Pioneers to have double-digit goals. Braydan Stearns is fourth on the team in goals with 11. 

  • Point Park has seven players with double-digit points on the season: Huber (19), Leko (19), Bowersox (17), Ceesay (17), Stearns (13), Ian George (11) and Alex Batchelor (10). 

  • Goalkeeper Mario Lorenson ranks fifth in the G-MAC in saves per game at 11.0 per contest. 

  • Logan Foy is averaging 5.43 ground balls per game, good for fourth best in the G-MAC. Point Park is third in the G-MAC in ground balls per game at 36.71. 

  • Xavier Layzell is ninth in the G-MAC in caused turnovers per game, averaging 1.5.
