Heller, Van den Tooren Set School Records on Saturday at SRU

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Alexis Heller and Dunya Van den Tooren broke school records to highlight Point Park's showing at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday.
 
Van den Tooren finished second in the high jump with a school record mark of 1.70 meters, besting her previous record and PR of 1.68 meters. The mark also accomplished an NCAA Provisional standard.
 
Heller tuned in a top-10 finish in the javelin and set a new school record at 37.90 meters.
 
Van den Tooren was also part of Point Park's runner-up finish in the 4x400 meter relay, as she teamed with Aubrey Smith, Diamond Rush and Mya Greschner to turn in a time of 4:08.70.
 
In the women's. 4x100 meter relay, Emma Roemer, Addalynn Brower, Rush and Greschner finished third with a time of 48.79 – the second-fastest time in school history in the event.
 
Roemer also had an impressive day individually, finishing fourth in the long jump (5.69m) and 100-meter hurdles (14.52) and ninth in the in the 100 meter (12.38). She moved into second all-time (at PPU) in the long jump and third all-time in the 100 meter. She is currently the school record holder in the 100-meter hurdles.
 
Other top five finishes for the Point Park women included Alana Dyce-Giraud finishing third in the 10,000m (40:32.68), Anna Babinyecz finishing third in the 800 meter (2:17.61), Jana Schmid taking fourth in the 800 meter (2:18.02) and (Aubrey) Smith taking fifth in the 800 meter (2:19.29). Smith also finished sixth in the 400 meter with the fifth-fastest time (59.00) in PPU history on Saturday.
