PITTSBURGH -- Point Park men's soccer will conclude a streak of three consecutive matches in the Steel City on Sunday when it hosts Frostburg State. Opening kick is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Duquesne University's Rooney Field.

LAST TIME OUT

Point Park (2-3-2, 1-2-0 MEC) scored two goals in the final three minutes of Wednesday night's match with California (PA) to force a 2-2 tie. Nikolas Suarez tallied off his left foot to bring Point Park within one at exactly 87 minutes elapsed time, and Hector Moreno drew PPU level with 37 seconds to play on a penalty kick.

MORENO'S ON FIRE

Senior Hector Moreno leads the Pioneers with three goals and 6 points in the young season after his game-tying penalty kick against Cal (PA). His 11 shots and five shots on goal also lead Point Park. Moreno, who hails from El Cerrito, Colombia, is tied for third in the MEC in goals.

Moreno's best tally of the season came against West Liberty when he popped up the ball to himself before performing a bicycle kick from 15 yards out to score.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS    

Frostburg State (4-0-2, 2-0-1 MEC) enters on a two-game win streak after having beaten Wheeling 3-1 and West Liberty 3-0 in their last two matches. The Bobcats have faced two ranked opponents this year, beating then-No. 8 Bloomsburg 2-1 and drawing with then-No. 17 Davis & Elkins.

Frank Stare and Nate Kennedy are tied at a team-leading three goals apiece. Inzaghi Harmon is third on the team with two goals. The three are FSU's leaders in points with Stare posting 8, Harmon totaling 7 and Kennedy posting 6 on the season. Harmon and Kennedy have both received MEC Offensive Player of the Week honors, with Harmon earning the title on Aug. 31 and Kennedy receiving the award on Sept. 7.

Josiah Emerson was named MEC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7. He's allowed only three goals across his five matches in 2026, posting a goals-against average of 0.60 and a save percentage of .864, both of which are the best in the MEC.

FORT FUSAY

In his first season as a Pioneer, Goalkeeper Anthony Fusay is quickly rising to the top of MEC stat boards. Fusay, a junior from Lille, France, by way of Lincoln Memorial University, is tied for second in the MEC in shutouts and ranks sixth in saves with 19 and seventh in save percentage at .655. He also ranks fifth in the conference in goals-against average (1.48)

PRESEASON PRAISE

Point Park was picked to finish second in the Mountain East Conference North Division in the MEC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. The Pioneers received four of the 10 first-place votes.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

All 11 of Point Park's starters in their season opener against Seton Hill made their Pioneer first-team debut. Of the 21 total Pioneers who saw action, all but five were in their first game with Point Park. Only Guilherme Galvao, Lorenzo Grispello, Rocco Domenighini. Nikolai Tjoestheim and Edouard Gagnon had seen action for Point Park in 2025.

Additionally, Sindri Hjaltested made his PPU debut in the team's second match against D'Youville, recording a shot, and Bruno de Oliveira recorded a team save in his Pioneer debut against Thomas More.

ROONEY FIELD

Point Park will play at Duquesne University's Rooney Field on Sunday. All fans are advised to park in the Forbes Garage on Duquesne's campus, the entrance to which is located on Forbes Avenue, just past the intersection of Forbes and McAnulty. Admission in the parking garage is $6.

Once inside the garage, fans are encouraged to take the stairs or elevator to the eighth level and make their way across the skywalk toward the campus. Fans can either take the sidewalk up the hill toward the Utico Pavilion or walk through the Student Union building. The entrance to the Union closest to the garage is on the second floor, and fans can take the stairs or elevator to the third floor to exit right next to the field.
