WILMORE, Ky. – Kim Corcoran (JR/Cheswick, Pa) hit two home runs and the Point Park University softball team swept Asbury (Ky.) University, 5-0 and 5-1, in a River States Conference doubleheader Saturday.
The Pioneers' (11-10, 4-0 RSC) defense kept the Eagles (5-15, 2-6 RSC) off the bases in the 5-0 first game win.
Ashley Iagnemma (SO/Bridgeville, Pa) tossed a one-hitter and picked up her sixth win of the year, tallying eight strikeouts and no walks.
In the 5-1 nightcap win Tiffany Edwards (SO/Deer Lakes, Pa.) pitched a two-hitter, striking out one and forcing the Eagles to hit into ground- and fly-out situations.
Corcoran went 4-for-8 on the day, hitting a single, double and a two-run home run in each game.
Amber Cook (FR/West Mifflin, Pa.) went 3-for-6 with two doubles and a single in the doubleheader.
Point Park faced Midway (Ky.) University today for a River States Conference doubleheader that began at 1 p.m.
