Box Score PITTSBURGH – Point Park improved to 2-0 in Mountain East Conference play with a 3-1 victory over Frostburg State (25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22) on Tuesday evening at the PPU Student Center in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Rachele Tessari led Point Park with a team-high 14 kills and 11 digs in the victory, while senior Eden McElhaney finished the match with 11 kills, nine digs and two service aces. Haley Stormer and Giulia Follador also contributed to the Point Park attack with eight and seven kills, respectively.
Elise Wallace passed out 36 of the teams' 40 assists to guide the Point Park offense. Defensively, Mia Arndt had a big day with 28 digs.
Point Park hit .187 in the match with 46 kills compared to 21 errors. On the other side of the net, Frostburg State hit .100 with 39 kills compared to 26 errors.
Statistically, both teams finished the evening with eight total blocks, while Frostburg State held a narrow 8-7 advantage in service aces.
The teams struggled from the service line at times, though, finishing with a combined 30 service errors. Frostburg State had 17 service errors, while Point Park finished the evening with 13.
Dani Kunkle finished with a team-high 10 kills to lead Frostburg State in the match. Paige Mock chipped in eight kills and five total blocks.
