Pioneers Fall On The Road to Wheeling In MEC Matchup

WHEELING, W.Va. – Point Park fell to Wheeling University 3-0 in a Friday night MEC matchup at the Alma Grace McDonough Center. 

Wheeling began their offensive attack early as they took the first set 25-9 followed up by a 25-12 and 25-11 to take the match from the Pioneers. With the win Wheeling moves to 9-7 overall and 2-1 in MEC play while Point Park falls to 3-9 overall and 2-1 in conference play. 

Ana Baruh Krstic and Eden McElhaney led the attack for the Pioneers picking up five kills apiece while McElhaney also picked up 11 digs in the effort. Elise Wallace had 15 assists for Point Park to round out the offensive stats for the Pioneers. 

Point Park will have the weekend off before they return to the court on Tuesday, October 8 when they travel to West Liberty to take on the Hilltoppers at 7 pm in the ARSC in another MEC matchup.
