BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Point Park senior outside hitter
Eden McElhaney was voted honorable mention All-Mountain East Conference for the 2024 season, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon following a vote of the league's head coaches.
McElhaney, from Beaver, Pa., recorded a team-high 249 kills and ranked second on the team in digs with 271. She also chipped in 83 assists, 33 aces, and 20.0 blocks on the season. McElhaney recorded a .115 hitting percentage and reached double-figure kills 14 times this season. She also recorded double-digit digs in 15 matches and finished the season with 10 double-double performances.
In addition to announcing members of its all-conference teams on Wednesday afternoon, the MEC also unveiled its yearly award winners for volleyball. West Virginia State's Kiersten Eggleton was voted the league's Player of the Year, while Josie Skinn was tabbed as the Libero of the Year. Wheeling's Olivia Batch was voted the league's Freshman of the Year. First-year West Virginia State head coach Avery Moore was tabbed as the league's Coach of the Year.
