BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Point Park senior Jannik Windelband was named this week's Mountain East Conference Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Windelband, a distance runner from Germany, turned in the top time in the conference last week in both the mile (4:17.69) and 3000m (8:40.08) events during the Dr. Sander Scorcher Invitational at the Armory in Bronx, New York. In the mile, Windelband's time (4:17.69) was the second-fastest in school history.
 
For the season, Windelband ranks fifth in the MEC in both events.
 
Windelband and his Pioneer teammates will return to competition on Friday at the Collegiate Mid-Major hosted by Youngstown State University.
