Women's Soccer Heads on the Road for Matchup Against Salem

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va.- The Point Park women's soccer team is heading on the road to face-off with Salem on Wednesday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the Bridge Sports Complex.

Storylines
  • The Pioneers travel to Bridgeport with a 1-1-1 record. Point Park picked up their first win of the season against Mountain East Conference opponent Wheeling on Saturday beating the Cardinals 2-0.
  • Against Wheeling the Pioneers put up eight shots with five coming on goal. Paula Sole got the Pioneers on the board first with a goal in the 47th minute assisted by Sterre Kuijper. The duo connected again in the 64th minute with Kuijper getting a goal of her own off an assist from Sole.
  • The Pioneers faced off against Salem twice last year, picking up a 1-0 win followed up by a big 4-0 win to close out the 2024 season.
  • Statistically, the Pioneers are averaging 12.7 shots per game with a shot percentage of 0.105. Point Park is 16-38 in shots on goal with a 0.421 shot on goal percentage.
  • In goal, Frederieke Rijlaarsdam registered a shutout against Wheeling. In 90 minutes played the keeper from the Netherlands recorded four saves in 12 shots faced. Rijlaarsdam has a 1-1 record on the season.
