FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Point Park women's soccer team looks to continue their strong start to the season as the Pioneers travel to Fairmont to take on the Fighting Falcons in a Mountain East Conference matchup slated for Wednesday night. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Storylines

• Point Park enters the matchup 3-1-1 overall and 2-0 in Mountain East Conference play. The Pioneers recently picked up a 5-1 win over West Liberty to remain perfect in league play. Fairmont currently sits at a perfect 4-0 overall and 2-0 in MEC play.
• Fairmont State took both matchups last year from the Pioneers winning the first game 3-0 on Sept. 25 before getting a 3-1 win on Nov. 3 in Fairmont.
• Over the last three matchups the Pioneers have scored an impressive 17 goals with a 2-0 win over Wheeling, a commanding 10-0 win over Salem, and most recently their 5-1 win over West Liberty.
• Freshman Rebecca Pihlgren has found quick success for the Pioneers putting up four goals in her last two games. The Sweden native is tied with three other MEC players for the most goals on the season so far, all with four. Pihlgren is also fourth in points, averaging 1.80 per game.
• In assists, four Pioneers are in the top 10 with Paula Sole, Sterre Kuijper, Mireya Rojas, and Martina Cardemil all recording two assists each.
• As a team, Point Park is shooting 0.529 percent on goal compared to opponents who are shooting 0.411 on the season. The Pioneers are putting up 17.0 shots per game while recording 3.80 goals per game.
