Point Park to Host Davis & Elkins Tuesday Night

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park volleyball returns to the Student Center Gym on Tuesday in an MEC matchup with Davis & Elkins. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

 

LAST TIME OUT

Point Park (4-10, 1-4 MEC) picked up two wins on Saturday in the PSU Harrisburg Tri-Match, taking down Cairn and PSU Harrisburg in four sets each. Nicole Reasbeck posted a combined 23 kills and 28 digs over the two matches, and Point Park also featured strong games from Patricia Calero-Irizarry and Marianna Oyola-Rivera, who both posted 21 kills over the two matches. 

 

Mia Arndt tallied a team-leading 34 digs across the two games, and Amiera Smith led the team with her seven total blocks, including her four solo blocks against Cairn. 

 

REASBECK REIGNS

Senior Nicole Reasbeck crossed the century mark in kills last weekend, bringing her team-leading total up to 131, which is good for 10th in the MEC. Reasbeck also leads the team with her 151.0 points, and her 14.0 blocks are tied for fourth best on the squad.

 

Reasbeck has posted double-digit kills in three consecutive matches. She lit up the stat sheet in Point Park's matchup at Salem, posting 14 kills and 14 digs, and her 17 digs against PSU Harrisburg ties a career high for a single game. 

 

SCOUTING THE SENATORS

Davis & Elkins (0-19, 0-5 MEC) enters seeking its first win of the 2026 campaign. The Senators have not won a match since Nov. 1, 2024. D&E features three players with over 100 points in Aliceya Ciftcioglu (121.0), Kaylee Vanjo (118.5) and Braelyn Brenneman (104.0). Ciftcioglu leads the team with 108 kills on the season.

 

Neve Norris is the team's leader in digs, posting 225 on the year. Neve ranks ninth in the MEC in digs per set and is tied for third in aces per set at 0.45 (29 total).

 

BUILD THE FENCE

Point Park combined for 11 blocks over its two games on Saturday, with Amiera Smith leading the charge with her seven total blocks and five solo blocks. Point Park is tied for second in the MEC in opponent blocks per set, only allowing 1.54 per frame. The Pioneers are averaging 1.63 blocks per set this season.

 

COMING IN HOT

Marianna Oyola-Rivera leads the team with 23 aces after tallying five against PSU Harrisburg. Oyola-Rivera is tied for the third spot in the MEC in aces per set at 0.45. 

 

ALL-TOURNAMENT PIONEERS

Brooke Bednarski and Mia Arndt were both named to all-tournament teams in the 2026 season, with Bednarski earning a spot on the Storm Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team, and Arndt making the team for the Wheeling Quad. 

 

Oyola-Rivera and Bednarski are also Point Park's two leaders in assists, with 216 and 174 on the season. Mia Arndt leads the team with her 202 digs and ranks third among Pioneers in assists with 30. Arndt, a junior from Robinson Township, Pa., is seventh in the league in digs per set at 3.88.
