Pioneers to Visit Westminster (PA) Wednesday

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Point Park women's lacrosse closes out its non-conference schedule on Wednesday in a road matchup with Westminster (PA). Opening draw is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

 

Point Park (2-3, 0-0 MEC) fell to Tiffin on Saturday 15-10. Point Park featured eight different goalscorers on Saturday with Alexandra Hrkach and Gracie Favela each scoring two goals to tie for the team lead. Hrkach was one of four Pioneers to tally an assist, and her 3 points led the team. 

 

Andrea Kinger, Taylor Desko, Kiley Leasure, Emma Diaz, Tessa Hueber and Imani Horn all dented the twine for Point Park. Kinger, Desko and Ava Miller all added assists.

 

Westminster (2-3) enters off a 14-3 win on Saturday over Wilson. The Titans are 0-2 at home on the season, and Point Park is seeking its first road win in program history.


STORYLINES

  • Andrea Kinger was named MEC Offensive Player of the Week on Mar. 2. Kinger leads the MEC with her 4.33 goals per game and her 6.0 points per game. Kinger's 1.67 assists per game rank her sixth in the MEC. She ranks third in the conference with her 8.33 shots per game.

  • Kiley Leasure is second in the MEC in both goals per game at 3.67 and points per game at 5.0. Leasure's 6.0 shots per game place her seventh in the conference.

  • Tessa Hueber ranks fourth in the MEC in points per game, averaging 4.5 per contest. Hueber's 2.5 assists per game lead the MEC.

  • Isabella LaVenice ranks in the top 10 in the conference in goals against average (seventh - 9.22), saves per game (seventh - 3.0) and is 11th save percentage (.290). 

  • Point Park leads the MEC in goals per game (15.33), assists per game (10.0) points per game (25.33) and shots per game (37.67).

  • Point Park features five of the top 10 players in the MEC in ground balls per game. Taylor Desko and Gracie Favela hold the top two spots in the MEC, averaging 7.0 and 5.0 respectively. Kinger (4.67) ranks third, and Alayna Zell and Ava Miller are tied for fifth at 4.33.

  • Desko ranks second in the MEC in draw controls per game, averaging 6.67 per contest. Ava Miller is ninth in the conference at 2.67 per game.
