PITTSBURGH -- Point Park men's soccer will play in its third-consecutive home game on Wednesday evening when it takes on Thomas More. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at F.N.B. Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT

Point Park (0-1-1, 0-0-0 MEC) tied with D'Youville 0-0 on Sunday. Goalkeeper Anthony Fusay continued his strong start to the season with four saves, bringing his total up to nine across just two games. 

Point Park and D'Youville both mustered four shots on goal, with Joel Gomez tying for the game high with two. Nikolas Suarez and Gabriel Okita both recorded shots on goal as well. Gianfranco Arguello posted a game-best three total shots, including a free kick in the 79th minute that just went wide of the cage. The Pioneers edged the Saints in total shots 12 to nine.

SCOUTING THOMAS MORE    

Thomas More (1-1-0, 0-0-0 G-MAC) enters after a 3-2 loss to Trevecca Nazarene University on Saturday in Nashville. The Saints took down Shawnee State of the Mountain East Conference 4-0 in their opener last Thursday. 

The Saints took an early lead in the 8th minute, but would surrender the tying goal less than 10 minutes later. TMU snagged a 2-1 lead before halftime, but two second-half goals from Trevecca Nazarene proved to be an insurmountable lead. 

Junior Anwar Benkandil leads the Saints with two goals on the young season, having scored the opener in both of TMU's games. Benkandil is one of five Saints with a goal on the season, as he's joined by Will Fox, Nils Waltemode, Xavier Munro and Ramzi Termanini. 

Luca Mammi leads Thomas More with two assists, with Fox, Waltemode, Callum Judge, Edward Longhurst and Luis Viegas having tallied one.

FORT FUSAY

In his first season as a Pioneer, Goalkeeper Anthony Fusay is quickly rising to the top of MEC stat boards. Fusay, a junior from Lille, France, by way of Lincoln Memorial University, is second in the MEC with nine total saves. 

He also is second in saves per game (minimum 2 games) at 4.50. He trails only Shai'ya Fitzgerald of West Liberty in both categories.

PRESEASON PRAISE

Point Park was picked to finish second in the Mountain East Conference North Division in the MEC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. The Pioneers received four of the 10 first-place votes.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

All 11 of Point Park's starters last Thursday made their Pioneer first-team debut. Of the 21 total Pioneers who saw action against Seton Hill, all but five were in their first game with Point Park. Only Guilherme Galvao, Lorenzo Grispello, Rocco Domenighini. Nikolai Tjoestheim and Edouard Gagnon had seen action for Point Park in 2025.

Additionally, Sindri Hjaltested made his PPU debut on Sunday against D'Youville, recording a shot.
