PITTSBURGH – Point Park volleyball returns to action with a pair of midweek non-conference road matches on Tuesday and Thursday evening this week.
On Tuesday, the Pioneers travel to Cal (PA) for a 6 p.m. match against the Vulcans. Two nights later, PPU will travel to north central West Virginia to take on Salem. Thursday's match is slated for 6 p.m. as well.
The Pioneers enter the week with a record of 0-5 after dropping a pair of matches at the Wheeling Quad this weekend against Ursuline and UIndy.
Through five matches this season, seven Pioneers have double-digit kills, led by
Nicole Reasbeck (26) and
Carson Burgh (23).
Patricia Calero-Irizarry is third on the team in kills (17) and has a team-high 11 blocks this season.
Viktoria Zelubowski (.171) and
Sara Faith (.162) are leading the Pioneers in hitting percentage this season.
Marianna Oyola-Rivera and
Brooke Bednarski are leading the Pioneers from the setter position with 58 and 47 assists, respectively. Bednarski also has a team-high five aces on the season.
In the back row,
Mia Arndt is leading the Pioneers with 43 digs. Reasbeck is second on the team in digs with 26.
After opening the season with seven-straight road matches, Point Park will come home for three-straight at the Student Center next week – beginning Wednesday evening with a non-conference match against Geneva College (7 p.m. first serve).
