aCHARLOTTE -- Point Park track & field will compete in UNC Charlotte's 49er Classic from Thursday through Saturday.

The Pioneers are coming off the Elon Invitational last week in which Alexis Heller broke the program record for the shot put with her toss of 11.79 meters. Heller's javelin distance of 34.25 meters is good for fifth best in program history.

Point Park recorded 11 finishes in the program's top five. PPU also tallied three first-place finishes with Kamar Sutherland and Carel Froneman taking first in the 110m hurdles (15.14) and 400m hurdles (56.87), respectively. The men's 4x400 relay team of Maxwell Eaton, Christian Reid, Juan Barrera and Froneman also finished first with a time of 3:27.12.

Dunya Van den Tooren will be the lone Pioneer to compete on Thursday in the heptathlon. Point Park's entries for the weekend are as follows:
