Point Park to Face Tiffin on Saturday

TIFFIN, Ohio -- Point Park men's lacrosse opens its final road swing of the year on Saturday in a matchup with Tiffin in G-MAC play. Opening faceoff is scheduled for noon. 

 

Point Park (1-8, 1-5 G-MAC) was downed 23-4 by No. 4 Seton Hill on Wednesday at Highmark Stadium. Grant Huber scored twice and Tigran Ceesay and Ian George both added tallies. Xavier Williams and George recorded the Pioneers' lone assists. 

 

Point Park took an early lead with Huber scoring 19 seconds in. The Pioneers and Griffins were competitive with the Griffins for the majority of the first quarter, with the game being tied at 3-3 with 3:32 remaining in the period. 

 

Tiffin (4-7, 2-5) has not won since Mar. 21. The Dragons have been outscored 72-28 (-44 goal differential) over their four-game losing skid. Tiffin is 0-4 at home this season, and Point Park has yet to record a win away from Highmark Stadium. 

 

STORYLINES

  • Grant Huber leads the Pioneers with 15 goals and 18 points on the season. Tigran Ceesay is second on the team with 11 goals and 15 points. Ceesay is tied with Parker Bowersox for the second-most goals on the team. Bowersox is third in points with 14.

  • Bowersox and Sawyer Leko are tied at 14 points each, good for third best for Point Park. Leko ranks fifth on the team with his eight goals, one behind Braydan Stearns

  • Goalkeeper Mario Lorenson ranks sixth in the G-MAC in saves per game at 10.5 per contest. 

  • Logan Foy is averaging 5.25 ground balls per game, good for fourth best in the G-MAC. Point Park is third in the G-MAC in ground balls per game at 39.25.
