PITTSBURGH – After hanging on for a dramatic 2-1 victory over West Liberty on Wednesday evening at Highmark Stadium, the Pioneers will return to the road on Sunday to meet West Virginia Wesleyan in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
The Pioneers enter Sunday's matchup with a record of 5-5 overall and 5-3 in league play. Point Park is 3-0 at home this season, while holding just a 2-5 record on the road. The Bobcats enter the matchup with a record of 2-7-1 on the year, including a 1-6 mark in league play.
Point Park hosted Wesleyan in its 2025 home opener back on Sept.17, picking up a lopsided 4-1 win at Highmark Stadium. The Pioneers had four goal scorers against the Bobcats, including

- During the 2024 season, West Virginia Wesleyan swept the Pioneers in MEC play, winning 2-1 in Buckhannon and 3-0 in Pittsburgh.

- Gregorio Capponi has played all but 45 minutes in the Point Park goal this season. The junior has 54 saves and a 1.68 goals against average. Capponi made a diving save on a PK Wednesday night to help Point Park preserve its 2-1 conference victory over West Liberty.
